DESIGN | blast from the past

It's back! Wallpaper is in. Don't worry, though. It's not the same green ivy and pastel pinstripe of the 80's. Now it can be bold, textured, expressive, and even metallic.

Where can you use it? We love using wallcovering in powder bathrooms and dining rooms. But let's not limit ourselves. It can add color and pop to any room.

It's a special room for special occasions,
so make it extra special with wallcovering.

 Small space with big impact.

Choose solid fabrics, and add pattern on thew walls.

Even laundry rooms can be fun

If you are interested in any of these wallcoverings, give us a call and we will get you the info.

Until next time,

Sarah T.

INVENTORY UPDATE | waylande gregory studios

One of the highlights of our trip to Dallas Market last month (and my personal favorite) was stumbling upon the Waylande Gregory line. We actually had the pleasure of meeting Gregory's great-grand nephew who has given new life to the line. The story behind Waylande Gregory is truly fascinating (if you are unfamiliar, do yourself a favor and google him).

Today each piece is produced according to Gregory's high standards and techniques using rich matte glazes, 22K gold and platinum. We are enamored with the bold colors and glamorous motifs on each piece and are beyond thrilled to carry WG at J.McIntyre HOME.

Here is a little sneak peek of some of our inventory. Come by and see!

zebra bullet bowl | $146

INSPIRED | traveling tuesday

Hello -

If you haven't heard, you should know that I LOVE to travel. Meeting new people, seeing new places, tasting new foods, and exploring the unknown excites me. There is nothing more inspiring than walking through a street market in a new city. The colors, the smells, the trinkets, and even the conversations with locals - all feed my craving for the beautiful with a full sensory experience.

Last summer, I had the chance to go to India for three weeks. My sister and I went with an organization called Mission Waco (look it up, it's awesome). We traveled south to Pune, north to Jammu, east to Kolkata, and west to Delhi. We learned about the different religions of the country, served alongside nuns at one of Mother Teresa's mission houses, and took health surveys of nomadic herding tribes. It was an incredible experience that reinforced my beliefs and fueled my desire to travel even more (didn't think that was possible).

These doors say it all.

Flowers, spices - a new smell around every corner. And incredible colors everywhere.

Not quite sure what the occasion was, but, wow.

Yes, that is a camel.

Perfect example of the gorgeous colors and fun patterns found in India. These are old Saris that were made into blankets by women who are escaping the sex trafficking industry, helped by an amazing organization called ConneXions. I was able to meet the women and watch them make the blankets. I even brought two blankets home with me.

What does this have to do with design? EVERYTHING. I have never been more inspired by color and pattern. The life and energy that color brings is invigorating. It doesn't have to be everywhere, but pops of color in pillows, blankets, tablecloths, or art adds so much.

Bold Pattern and rich color are both modern and timeless.
Grounded by the black bed, it all works.

The armoire, lanterns, and seat cushions each add a touch of Indian flare. The great lines and beautiful colors are amazing against the white walls and white table and chairs.

We love the designer John Robshaw at JMI. His great bedding lines have
been inspired by his trips to India, China, Cambodia, and other Asian countries.
Mixed with solids, it is the perfect touch of pattern and color.

The Taj Mahal!

See the world from a different perspective. Get inspired. Broaden your horizon. Travel!

I'm sure this won't be the last time you hear about my crazy adventures.

Until next time,

Sarah T.
