VENDOR HIGHLIGHT | zoe bios creative

We are crushing on a new art source. Zoe Bios Creative is a collaborative group of artists based in California. They have everything from cultural photography to abstract metallics. But they can explain their work better than I can…

"Zoe Bios Creative has coined the term ‘ArtEntourĂ©’ to express a full circle cross-pollination of the art world with the design world. “Our fusion of art and design inspires a vitality of meaning in the everyday, hopefully provoking a higher consciousness in the way we live with, and make use of objects.”
ZBC’s is also a traverse across cultures, understanding how the relativity of meaning thrives along side the persistent universality of beauty. “We focus on the visual organization of new forms—chance arrangements and purposeful compositions. We want to inspire unconventional thinking, and creative design solutions while maintaining a mindful attention to beauty and contentment in every object that we offer…we are artists, curators, and collaborators.”

Check out some of their amazing work:

INSPIRED | paris on my mind

Strolling down the streets of Paris last fall, cafe after cafe, they all had something in common... colorfully woven, interestingly shaped chairs and great iron base tables with marble tops. I've had a crush on French bistro chairs and marble top tables ever since.

I finally came across a vendor that has lots of chair styles, color customization for the weave, fun table top selections, and even multiple table base options. The real deal!

The chairs are great inside, too, at a kitchen table or breakfast nook.

BUT that's not quite in the budget for me right now, so when I was finishing out my new little patio, I opted for a $50 Ikea set that I am loving for the time being. It's just the right size and gives that same quaint bistro feel. Someday I'll get the real thing, but for now, this will do just fine.

CLICK | LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION

JMI has been photo-shooting it up lately. It’s the cherry on top of a great project to walk in and see it finished, and then preserve it with a photograph. So it was fun when I came across this Style Me Pretty Living post. It’s a behind the scenes look at a Domino Magazine photo shoot. Worth the watch!

CLICK HERE and scroll down to the video.

I love seeing how they style the house for the photo shoot. It has given me some helpful hints on how to use flowers, objects, light, and color. Check out some of the photos from this fun shoot.

HOP ON OVER | entertaining

You have your menu all set, but do you have your table settings planned?
Flowers, eggs, chocolate easter bunnies, the options are endless. Below are a few tablescapes that are inspiring me this spring and Easter.

Remember details make the difference- easter candy, cherished china and monogrammed eggs,
are just a few things to make your tables extra special!

In the spirit of Easter and Easter Bunnies, why not finish your meal with a personal sized carrot cake? Yumm!
