before and after | vista butte kitchen

This week's posts will feature before and after shots of the recently completed Vista Butte vacation home.  This beautiful home in Crested Butte, Colorado began with an uncoordinated interior, and has come a LONG way.

Red walls...  no, POPPY walls... created an odd atmosphere in the kitchen.  It was randomly combined with a blue Viking range and a distracting mosaic backsplash that was made worse with a shaky installation.  We started with a fresh coat of neutral paint (Benjamin Moore's Manchester Tan, painted throughout the house) and set the tone for a modern mountain look.  We kept the range and used it to tie in a pop of color.  Updated mercury glass pendants glisten and bring out the new stainless backsplash at the stovetop.  Soapstone countertops, natural roman shades, burlap barstools, an oak hutch, and a fresh stain on the home's original hickory floors complete the look.

  1. The biggest part of a kitchen remodelling project is the kitchen countertops. But there are ways to update your cabinets without spending a fortune.
